Simay Memisoglu

Greetings, I am Simay Memisoglu from Istanbul, Turkey and currently a senior-student athlete pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My dedication to both academics and athletics has propelled me to excel in my studies while actively contributing to the university’s athletic department as a student worker.

During my academic journey, I have consistently upheld a great academic standing, regularly securing a position on the Dean’s List. In addition to my academic achievements, I have played in 34 volleyball games as a starter, showcasing my skills and dedication on the volleyball court in 2023 season. This valuable playing experience allowed me to hone my athletic abilities but also instilled in me the importance of teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Additionaly, I have the privelege of serving as one of the team captains, a role that further shows my leadership abilities and commitment to our team’s success. 

Currently, I am engaged in an internship through the athletic department, further enriching my practical knowledge and skills in the field of sports administration. This hands-on experience has provided invaluable insights into the inner working of athletic organizations and reinforced my passion for facilitating opportunities for student-athletes. 

Looking ahead, I am planning to pursue a Master’s degree in the United States, with the aim of leveraging my academic background and professional experiences to effect positive change in the realm of higher education and athletics.

As a career aspiration, I am deeply committed to advocating for student-atheletes’ academic and athletic pursuits, with the ultimate goal of expanding opportunities for aspiring international athletes to pursue their dreams in the United States.I will do this by providing mentorship,guidance, and resources.
