Stavroula Papazoglou

Stavroula Papazoglou was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, and combines a strong academic background with an accomplished career in volleyball at the collegiate and professional level. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Arkansas State University – Pine Bluff, where her academic work focused on sport finance and the financial dynamics of the sports industry. She continued her studies at Jacksonville State University, completing a Master’s degree in Sports Management, Health, and Physical Education, graduating with Cum Laude honors. During her time there, she earned Conference USA Honor Roll recognition and completed an internship in Sport Marketing and Administration. Most recently, she obtained a Master of Science in Kinesiology, specializing in Sports Performance, Health, and Wellness Promotion from McNeese State University, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors, where her research focused on the impact of recovery strategies on athletic performance and injury prevention.

As a student-athlete, Stavroula has competed at a high level in both indoor and beach volleyball in the United States. She helped Odessa College win a regional title and advance to the NJCAA Division I National Championships, where the team finished sixth nationally. At Arkansas-Pine Bluff, she ranked in the Top 5 in the SWAC with 281 digs and among the Top 10 with 31 aces, while also earned the Unsung Hero Award. She continued her career at Jacksonville State University (Conference USA), where she was a letterwinner in both indoor and beach volleyball, competing in indoor matches while also playing in all beach matches as part of the No.1 duo. At McNeese State University, she competed exclusively in beach volleyball as part of the No.1 duo, playing in all matches and earning Southland Conference Preseason Player to Watch honors, as well as the “Iron Cowgirl" award from McNeese Athletics. She made program history by signing the first professional beach volleyball contract in McNeese history, was also honored as part of the Rowdy’s Team of the Year, and helped lead her team to the second round of the Southland Championship. Her standout performances included achieving triple-double numbers, recording a season-high 10 aces, and posting a dominant performance against Sam Houston with 27 digs, 22 kills, and 6 aces. In 2026, she continued her professional career in Greece, competing with Rethymno Oper.

Stavroula brings a unique perspective as both an elite athlete and a sports science professional, with a strong passion for performance optimization, athlete development, and overall health and wellness.
