NOMOS Set for Strong Presence during the 2024-2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Season

NMOS BBALL 2024 25

With the NCAA Women's basketball season approaching, NOMOS has unveiled an impressive team roster of 26 players, including 23 highly talented women from Greece, alongside 3 standout international players from Portugal, Croatia, and Turkey.

This is a landmark year and basketball season for specific players we've served and covered in the past, who will have milestones such as degree completions or will conclude their intercollegiate athletics eligibility:

Elena Bosgana (Athens, Greece) will wrap up her degree at Stanford University this spring, majoring in science, technology, and society. It's been such a memorable journey for the American Community Schools (ACS) of Athens alumna, earning her starting spot at last year's top-2 ranked team in NCAA D1, next to progressing as a national team of Greece member over the past couple of years, to the point of becoming a key player for the national team program and a serious pro prospect.
Filippa Goula (Athens, Greece) is wrapping up her Master's degree in health and exercise science at perennial Horizon League title contender Cleveland State. Nothing sort of a blessing for this hard-working young lady, who continued to answer the call of duty, be it junior national teams of Greece, or NJCAA D1 (leading Northeastern JC in Colorado), or NCAA D1 at Saint Francis, PA before her arrival at Cleveland.
Artemis Kouki (Athens, Greece) is another junior national team of Greece member and ACS alumna, who not only is graduating this year from Western Michigan with a degree in environmental sustainability, but was voted as co-captain of her team, giving her resilience, staying the course despite season-ending injuries, and eventually thriving both in the classroom and on the basketball court.
Ioanna Krimili (Heraklion Crete, Greece) has more awards than one can possibly fit in a brief season preview! Arguably one of the two best players in the history of the University of San Francisco, after securing her bachelor's degree and countless awards, among which WCC Newcomer of the Year, 3x All-WCC First Team, all-tme 3pt leader in USF history, and being among the top 3pt shooters in the nation, going head to head with Caitlin Clark for a couple of years, and scoring in bunches, Ioanna completed her graduate transfer to California Berkeley last year, with one more year of eligibility remaining. Already an Honorable Mention in the ol' Pac-12 and leading the historic conference in made threes last season, now Ioanna and her Bears are ready to take on the ACC, entering her swan song in NCAA basketball as the nation's leader in made 3s! NCAA basketball won't be the same w/o her!
Athina Lexa (Thessaloniki, Greece) wrote her own history at Canisius University, earning MAAC Sixth Player of the Year, All-Academic and All-Conference, as well as All-Rookie Team Honors, before graduating with her Health and Wellness degree and pursuing her Master's now at Eastern Michigan University.
Ornela Muca (Athens, Greece) continued her academic and basketball career in her beloved new home state of California, after her Bachelor's in molecular and cell biology from the University of California Berkeley, now pursuing her Business Analytics Master's at Pepperdine University in scenic Malibu, CA! Always exhilarating to see this highly-motivated, respectful yet relentless ACS alumna set higher goals academically and professionally. Biotech industry, watch out ;)
Rafaela Stergaki (Thessaloniki, Greece) persevered and graduated with honors from Santa Clara University, a Top-35 University nationally and Top-25 undergraduate business program, while also contributing to a successful WCC season and postseason run! After departing the institution lovingly referred to as "Mini Stanford", now Raf is off to pursue her MBA at Delta State University

On the front end of their intercollegiate journey, we have 7 outstanding freshmen we are excited to introduce:

Lydia Chatira (Athens, Greece) - A national team member, and a proud alumna of the American Community Schools (ACS) of Athens, she excelled both academically and athletically throughout high school... She will attend Harvard University :)
Anastasia Drosouni (Thessaloniki, Greece) - A redshirt freshman at California Berkeley after sustaining a season-ending Achilles' tendon rupture, Anastasia is back in full force! After helping guide the historic Aris B.C. in the junior and A2 national leagues, she joined the Golden Bears and fellow Greeks Ioanna Krimili and Ornela Muca last year. She's pursuing a degree in mathematics at the nation's best public institution, tied for first with UCLA upon Anastasia's arrival.
Electra Lykaki (Kavala, Greece) - Enrolling at Central Connecticut State University, freshly minted at the well respected infrastructure of Kavala Panthers, well groomed for D1 hoops, Electra will major in Marketing at the AACSB-accredited Business School at CCSU.
Rita Nazario (Portugal) - A member of the U16, U18, and U22 national teams, she will be studying mechanical engineering at Saint Louis University. We were proud to introduce Rita's mentor, Hall of Famer and WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro, to SLU's Head Coach Rebecca Tillett, who after A10 and NIT titles, and unprecedented success at SLU WBB, she's now aiming even higher, for long postseason runs in the NCAAs with a new mix of fresh talent and experienced veteran players!
Ioanna Stefanaki (Heraklion Crete, Greece) - Heading to Mercer University to pursue health sciences after redshirting at Idaho State. She's joining forces with fellow Greek Junior National Team member Zenia Palaska, a sophomore transfer from Vermont.
Theoni Tsami (Athens, Greece) - Also a redshirt freshman studying Psychology at the University of California Davis, Theoni was a high academic performer and contributor to ACS Athens basketball teams, next to her Greek U18 champion club Kronos, and the Greek junior national teams.
Angeliki Ziaka (Athens, Greece) - Another junior national team starter, next to an active member of the Greek League's Champions Panathinaikos, Angeliki is set to study psychology at the University of San Francisco.
This season promises exciting competition and remarkable talent, as these players bring their skills to the collegiate level. Congratulations to our NOMOS players and best wishes for a successful season ahead filled with growth, achievements, and memorable moments!

We will be cheering for them every step of the way!
