Cagla Bayraktar

Cagla Bayraktar joined the Nomos family after experiencing firsthand how impactful the organization can be in guiding international student-athletes through the U.S. recruiting process. She is currently an undergraduate at Harvard University, where she studies Applied Mathematics and was a member of the Harvard Women’s Volleyball Team.

Cagla began her volleyball career at Vakıfbank, one of the world’s top clubs, where she trained and competed for five years. She then spent a year in the United States as a KL-YES scholarship student, playing both club volleyball and for her high school’s team. Upon returning to Turkey, she played two seasons with Fenerbahçe, captaining their First League team, and later competed with Beykoz Sports Club in Istanbul. She also represented Turkey in the U17 Balkan Championship in 2017.

Her journey eventually led her to be recruited by Harvard, an experience she credits Nomos with helping to make possible. Inspired by this support, Cagla is committed to mentoring young athletes who dream of studying and competing in the U.S. She brings not only her own experience navigating the recruiting process, but also a passion for service. Lately she focuses her efforts on Nomos' student-athletes' mentorship, video editing, recruiting analysis, operations, logistics & multi-faceted consultation.

Beyond volleyball, she has dedicated much of her time to volunteering, especially with programs that mentor and support underprivileged youth worldwide, most recently working with students in Brazil. During the 2025-2026 academic year, she will be a resident of the UK and Oxford University, studying Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law.

She was also selected as the team captain for the varsity volleyball team of Oxford University, featuring older and experienced players, including PhD, MBA, and other graduate students. Cagla is currently a junior.
